Another Video...Is That All?

Push play. Now read! You'll get the picture...

Well as you all know, I have been in my house for 10 months now. And we have NO curtains. At all, in ANY room! Until now! And to be honest, my husband is so excited, he could do cartwheels!  He hates Saturday mornings...because when you step out from the CAVE, I mean the bedroom. Your blinded by the light!
So me and my mom took a little trip to Hobby Lobby and found these beauties! Green chevron curtains they where only $32.99 a panel...but since they still had a 50% off sale sign that they forgot to take down. They still honored it. So we got 4 panels for $65.98. My husband is going to put them up this weekend. We may not even need 4, but I would rather have to many then not enough. I mean, I can always take them back, or use the fabric for another project...or two!

I also went local to a goodwill store last weekend. There I picked up this vintage looking needlepoint. It was framed and very dirty, but i used a Pinterest cleaner on it and Voila! It came out so fresh and clean!

.50 for the needlepoint

I got this print, and this print too for .50

So that is a big whopping $1.50. I also got 2 frames and a plastic elephant. I then went to Wal-Mart and bought to plastic giraffes. Got those for a Buck a piece!

I am doing a project with these little guys as we speak.

I also got this urn/planter for FREE! The lady from the thrift store said it was trash (are you kidding me?) and was going to throw it away. So me and my mom snatched it up, quick, fast and in a hurry! I made the topiary tree for $30.00. It definitely beats the one I skipped on for $99.00 (it was on sale too). Here is another Topiary. Then I went to the Dollar Store and bought a $5.00 mat.

I also saw this thing on Pinterest and just had to try it. Here is mine. It's JUST an orange that has olive oil in it, and that's all. No wick! No nothing! Pretty cool! Lasts about 45 mins.

So I guess that's it. Oh wait, one more thing...

This picture is a little weird. I do have a thumb, I promise!
Yeah, I burned the fire out of my arm. And you will never guess what on. A HAIRDRYER!
NO JOKE!
So what have you guys been up to?

Hey guys! So I am completely over the moon! Remember my ($30.00) brass coffee table? Yeah, the one that after 4 hours of pure torture. I still came up with, "A BIG HOT MESS"!

My steps were:
 Brasso & a toothbrush.
Then, for the legs. A soak in a mixture of water, vinegar, & salt.
The glass top, got a good shot of Windex.
However, this piece was just to far gone!
Next, comes out the inspirational photo's.
Then, what does a girl do...?
(In my best Austin Powers voice)
She breaks out a can of GOLD baby!

A Couple of 1st's...

Hey guys! Today I had such a great day! My friend Allison and I kicked off our Saturday by going to downtown Morristown, TN. There we had lunch at a little hole in the wall place called, The Jersey Girl Diner!  The philly cheese steak is tongue slapping G-O-O-D!

After lunch, we walked about 4 doors up to a place called, The Pink Pig Pottery Studio. Here we spent about 2 hours of  de-stressing. I'm telling ya, painting pottery is better than Calgon! We  both picked out this super cute owl plate. I can't wait till next Saturday, when we get them back.(I'll be sure you guys see the finished product.) We had a blast, but the fun was just getting started!

The Pink Pig Pottery Studio

Then we went and watched the knee slapping movie, Identity Theft. This movie is absolutely hilarious! I loved all of the throat punching action!

I also can't wait to show you guys a purchase I made on Friday!
So have you all went to any cool places lately?

Hotter than a Jerseylicious girl...I am what you need!

I am so excited to show you all my Bust! Please, I am not that kinda girl!! Remember the beautiful Goddess I purchased? Well here she is, in all her new glory. I used 2 cans of  Krylon Fusion satin, and I just love how she turned out. I think I am going to name her Olivia. Because she was sort of my inspiration, see the resemblance. I told you I was going to give her a Jersey Glow! So what do you guys think?

I made it from a NAPKIN!

Hey guys! I got quite a few projects going this weekend...and some finished! I wanted to share with you my coaster project. I went to Lowe's awhile back and bought a handful of tiles(about .$.38 ea.)  . I knew that I wanted to turn them into coasters, but was unsure on what to put on them. Then I came across a  tutorial on how this lady put a napkin print on a plate....Genius! So I thought "why not put a napkin on a tile?". On Saturday, I went out to a little store called, Tuesday Mornings. It's a new store here in my area, so I decided to check it out! And boy was I glad I did...

It was like a HomeGoods store, and  was I ever so excited! There I found some napkins. The napkins  had the letter B on them, perfect! I snatched them up for only $2.99.  I thought it was a good deal.
Then I headed to Hobby Lobby, to pick up some Mod Podge. $4.99 a bottle. (can be found at Wal-Mart, too)

Here is what I did:

First, cut the image from the napkin that you want to use...you will only need the top layer of your napkin.

Next, take you Mod Podge and a sponge/paint brush. Apply to the tile a generous layer, making sure you get into all of cracks. Also take the glue all the way to the tile's edges. Then smooth.

Apply you image to your tile. Then use another clean, dry sponge/paint brush and smooth out all the lines. Working from the center, out.

After the glue fully dries (it will dry clear)... apply a second coat of Mod Podge directly over your image. Be sure to apply again all the way to the edges. Do this step very carefully, you don't want to tear your image.

dab into cracks

When the glue is dried you are finished.

I would let them set for 24 hours, before setting a beverage on them. Just to be on the safe side!
These also would make a wonderful wedding, or home welcoming gift! You can even wrap them in the napkin you bought!

Irreplaceable...what matters most to my heart!

These pictures hold some of my most prize pocessions. The picture of the bracelet that has the name Gracie on it. Was given to me on Father's Day... I know that seems pretty weird. But it was a gift in remembrance of my daughter.  I wore this everday to help me cope. It was like I always had a piece of her with me. Also when I was having a bad day...the beads would always catch the light some how and it would reflect the most beautiful sparkles!!! Kinda like she was saying..."Mom, don't be sad, I am right here!".

The silver frame with the flower paper is another treasure of mine. The flower paper is actually a card that was given to the hubs and I on our wedding day...with a sweet blessing. The notebook paper with the heart on it, is something that my husband brought back from when he was serving in Iraq. The paper has Geesha ♥ Noah wrote in Arabic. When he gave it to me I cried! It's funny how something so small, can mean so much.

The black frame, is a picture of my grandparents. The car tag has the year 1949 on it. I believe this picture was taken while they were still dating. How cool is that!

So what means the world to you?

Zombies or Bust...

You don't smell rotten...I thought a corpse was suppose to smell rotten? Hey guys! So my niece and I had a girls night out. And what do 2 gals do, when they get a night out? They go see a romantic, brain eating zombie movie, of course. After we survived all the blood love and gore...we headed to Home Goods and scored on a few items! Like this new bust statue for a steal of a deal for only $16.99. However, I hate the color! I want my bust to have more of a Jersey Shore tan...that's right orangie glow! Is that even a word? Orangie? Oh well if that is clear as mud...then I will make it easier for ya! I want my bust to look like the one below. See how pretty she is! So I got some spray paint, and I hope it works. I want it to look a old and a little distressed...so wish me luck. I'll show you guys pictures of my before and after even if it doesn't turn out as planned. Also, my dresser I hope to be finished with this weekend...fingers x'ed! Also a special shout out to all my bank ladies, who believe in me...I love you guys!

love the color of statue
